This policy explains what personal information Roam Balkan collects when you use this website, why we collect it and what choices you have. It is short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Roam Balkan organises guided tours in Albania and the Balkans, and is responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@roambalkan.com.
What we collect
You can read every page of this site without telling us who you are. We only receive personal information when you send an enquiry about a tour. The form asks for:
- your name and email address;
- your preferred travel dates and the number of guests, if you give them;
- your message.
With each enquiry we also record the tour you asked about, the language you were browsing in, the date and time, your IP address and your browser's user agent (a short description of your browser and device). We use these technical details only to protect the form against spam and abuse.
How we use it
We use your enquiry to reply to you, to prepare a proposal and, if you decide to travel with us, to arrange your tour. We do not use it for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list and we never sell your information.
We rely on two legal bases: taking the steps you ask for before a possible booking, and our legitimate interest in keeping the form free of spam.
Who can see it
Your enquiry is stored in our website's database and sent to our team by email. Our web hosting provider and our email provider (Zoho Mail, using its servers in the European Union) handle it on our behalf and may not use it for anything else. If you book a tour, we share only what is needed with the local partners who deliver it, such as guides, drivers and accommodation. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and to handle any booking that follows, and after that only for as long as the law requires us to keep business records. Messages the form rejects as spam are not stored, apart from a short entry in our server log.
Cookies
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The site sets only two cookies, both needed for it to work:
- a security cookie on pages with a form, which protects the form against forged submissions and expires after two hours;
- a session cookie when you send an enquiry, so the page can show you a confirmation. It also expires after two hours.
Links to other services
Some pages link to services run by other companies, such as Google Maps for a meeting point, WhatsApp to message us and Facebook to share a story. Nothing is loaded from those services until you follow the link. Once you do, their own privacy policies apply.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email info@roambalkan.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner of Albania, or to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
