About this experience
Ride a quad through the hills behind Golem, past a lake and down to the beach, with a local guide. An hour and a half of riding, from €49 per person when two share a quad.
Meeting point: Golem, near Durrës
Golem is known for its long sandy beach, but the best views are in the hills behind it. On this guided ride you drive your own quad (ATV) along dirt tracks through olive groves and open hillside, past a lake, and then down to the sand, where you see the coast from the water's edge.
No experience is needed. Your guide gives you a helmet and gloves, explains the controls and, if it's your first time, lets you practise for a few minutes before the group sets off. The pace follows the group, with stops for photos along the way. You ride for an hour and a half, and your guide speaks English and Albanian.
Each quad takes one or two riders. There are five quads, so groups of up to ten can ride together. Rides run every day of the year, between 09:00 and 17:30.

Meet your guide in Golem
Your guide meets you at the starting point in Golem. We send the exact spot, with a Google Maps link, when we confirm your booking.
Helmet, gloves and a practice run
Put on your helmet and gloves while your guide explains the throttle, brakes and gears. If you're new to quads, you practise for a few minutes on easy ground before the group sets off.
Through the hills, past a lake
Follow your guide along dirt tracks and farm roads in the hills behind Golem, through olive groves and open hillside and past a lake. You stop for photos along the way.
Down to the beach
The route comes down to the beach, where you see the coast from the water's edge, with the Adriatic stretching out in front of you.
Back to the start
After an hour and a half of riding, you're back at the starting point in Golem.

Good to know
- Prices are per quad: €98 for a quad shared by two (€49 each), or €89 for a quad to yourself.
- Drivers need a valid car driving licence, and foreign licences are accepted. Passengers don't need one.
- Riders must be between 16 and 75 years old.
- Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dusty.
- Not suitable during pregnancy, or for anyone with back, neck or heart problems. No alcohol before riding.
- We send the exact meeting point in Golem, with a Google Maps link, when we confirm your booking. Hotel pick-up isn't available.
- We reply to every request within 6 hours. A 20% deposit confirms your booking, and the rest is paid in cash on the day.
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the ride applies to bookings paid in full. If you've paid only the deposit, it isn't refundable.
- If the weather is bad, we move your ride to another day at no extra cost.
